Truckin

This is the truck I beaded for my husbands birthday. He opened it yesterday so I was able to get a pic of it.
Sorry it's so dark. Just wasn't any good way to get a good pic that didn't have a glare of the beads.
This was done in peyote stitch with delica beads.

The pattern came from The Bead Coop and the designers name is Dawn Marvin.

Stitching & Beading

I've finished stitching the SAL Sweet Flowers, this is not a very good pic. It's a little cloudy today and it needs washing and pressing, but it's all finished.

I've also finished the ornament I was beading. I used seed beads and pearls for this. It is called Fantasy.

Emerald Mermaid

This is the piece I told you about in the previous post. It is the Emerald Mermaid by Mirabilla.I stitched this for a girl in Ga. She said she had everything to stitch it as she had tried but didn't get the hang of it. I had to change the fabric and I only had antique white linen. Even though it should of been on darker fabric I think it turned out very pretty.
I heard from Stephanie when she received it and shes happy with it.

I'm trying to finish up a SAL that I started earlier in the year. I'm on the last part, also working on a beaded  ornament.

It's been awhile...

I knew it had been a while since I last posted but didn't realize it was this long. I have been reading posts, though.
I finished the truck that I was beading for my husband, and it is framed. Hubby has was home on vacation when it came back from framers, so I'll get pics later. And then  I met a lady that had piece she tried to stitch and couldn't keep track or whatever, just couldn't get it going. I looked at it and committed to stitching it for her. I'm almost finished, just putting the beads on, and it has a lot. It is a mermaid by Mirabilia. Going to be very beautiful. Will get a pic of that too.

Hopefully I can get back to my blog more.
Til later!!

Biscornu & WIP

Be Still My Heart
I've had this finished for a couple of weeks now but forgot to take a pic and post it. This design is by Pine Glen Designs. It also has a needlebook chart and scissor fob chart as well. Just haven't had time to stitch those.

I'm doing a SAL with Friendly Stitchers yahoo group and have finished the second part , here is that pic
I'm not really happy with the way the spider web roses turned out on this, but ripping out and doing over wasted to much thread as I'm using silk fibers for this.

I'm doing another SAL and I'm a little behind and don't have the next parts finished to show yet.

And then I have started this bead project, I'm doing a little bit at a time as it is going to be a surprise for my husband's birthday. It's not until November so I should have plenty of time.

Meet Tiny Tim

Tiny Tim

A few weeks ago I was over at Tricia's blog and she had a couple of bears her daughter had made. They were just adorable and I love bears. She gave me her daughters link, so I went over to have a look. She had Tiny Tim up for adoption. I just had to have him.I'm sorry to say I've lost the email that had her daughters info.

He is sitting on a shelf in my front room where I do some stitching .

Woodland Star

I have just finished this charted canvas design. It is by Nancy's Needle. I just loved the colors when I saw the model stitched in a shop and had to have it.It was a little time consuming since I haven't done a piece this size before. I had done a couple of small freebie pieces to see how I would like it. This is about 8.5 x 8.5

Not that I need anymore things to try I really like it and have another piece kitted up to do. My pile is growing to fast and not enough time or hands to do everything.

A Few Finishes

I've got a few more finishes and quite a big pile that needs framing. I've had these done a couple of weeks.
First up is The Stitcher. It's by Homespun Elegance.
I stitched it on Amber Linen with the recommended threads. Sorry about the wrinkles,I haven't pressed it yet.I've picked out a frame but haven't ordered it yet.

Next up is A Little Love by Lizzie Kate. It came with fabric and the little button and beads.I used Weeks Dye Works threads for it. A cute little piece.

Then I've been doing a little beading and beaded this wooden needle case. It is by Beth from untilwebeadagain.com  She has really cute patterns for needle cases.

The Scissor Scamper

I came across Tricia's blog while reading messages on Friendly Stitcher's yahoo group and I thought her idea about the scissors was nice. Since I've been cross stitching for many years I have acquired quite a few pair of scissors myself. So I thought I'd share mine with you.

The 2 top ones my husband gave me one year for Christmas, another pair has ladybugs on them and I thought they were cuts as I like ladybugs. I thought the little yellow pair with flowers were cute, they're also very sharp. They were also inexpensive, I think around $3.99.

These my husband gave me this year for Christmas. The first pair with some ornate gold on them called Sophie's embroidery scissors, he knew I would have to have those as my little chihuahua is named Sophie.
The other is called Maude's Legs. So different, I love them both.
I have my pair of gingher scissors that my friend gave me over 20 years ago that I use constantly, they are in need of sharpening though.

If you would like to join the Scissor Scamper go over to Tricia's blog and see hers.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Flowers SAL & FInishes

It's been quite awhile since I've posted here. I have been stitching quite a bit, though. I have finished parts 2 & 5 of the Sweet Flowers SAL that I joined. It's coming along pretty good. Here is the progress so far,

You can't see the first row of the design, I didn't get the camera angled just right to get it all in, but that's parts 2&5.

Next is a little Lizzie Kate design, my daughter added this to my Christmas gifts. It called
Dogs Leave Paw Prints on Your Heart. I used the DMC colors for this and 28ct. Tea colored Monaco fabric for this. It is a cute little design.

The next one is a Little House Needleworks design , Summer Splendor. It was a quick stitch as well and I really like how it turned out. I used the recommended fabric and threads for this one,
I've got to get frames for these yet, I've got a couple other pieces going and I'll  show you those later when I finish them.

Finish and SAL

This is the box that I finally finished up doing the Mystery SAL. Carol was very nice in designing this and I really like how it turned out. My DIL wants one and I guess I'm the one that is going to have to do one for her, since she is just starting to stitch. So for now its in the TO-DO basket.

I'm also participating in  a SAL by Angie, mine is called Sweet Flowers . This is my progress so far. I will get another part in a few weeks.

Lantern Lights & Iris & Roses

I have finished the Iris & Roses ornament that I had started before the holidays and ran out of beads, so I had to wait to finish it. I'm glad it's finally done.It is designed by Deb Moffett-Hall.
I have quite a few ornaments made with panels like this one, I enjoy making them even though they are a little time consuming.

This one went a little faster, it's smaller. It's really hard to tell about this one, the ornament I used is a shiny silver. It is designed by Sandra Halpenny.
